Monday, July 17: Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf invited radio founder Rev Abba G. Karnga to a special dinner honoring seven individuals for their role in rebuilding Liberia. Radio Dukpah was cited as one of the reason for Karnga’s honor.
Tuesday, July 18: Grand Bassa County Superintendent invited Rev, Karnga to a special meeting to thank him for the ministry of Bassa Christian Radio and praise Radio Dukpah for its excellent communication and quality standards.
Thursday, July 20: Radio Dukpah suffered a severe lightning strike that destroyed all protective equipment and the FM transmitter! (As of January, 2007, repairs to the antenna and a new transmitter so far had not resolved the problem.)
